(Poughkeepsie, NY) - Sophomore Lindsay Leggio (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac HS) notched her sixth double-double of the 2018 season - including her fourth during the last five matches - registering 29 assists and 11 digs, to go with eight service aces and three kills, and fellow sophomore Alysha Owens (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon HS) added 10 kills and four blocks as the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team downed Dutchess Community College, 3-1 on Tuesday night at Dutchess CC.

With the win, the Vikings improve to 9-5 overall, 9-4 in Region XV play, and 4-3 in Mid-Hudson Conference competition. 

17 days after winning a five-set thriller against Dutchess at home, Westchester did not leave anything to chance on the road on Tuesday, dominating the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-18. The Falcons rallied to win the third set, 23-25, but Westchester put the match away with a 25-23 win in the fourth set. 

Also for Westchester, sophomore Madison Young (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) had 11 kills, two digs, and a block, while freshmen Melody Pabon (Bronx, NY/Celia Cruz) and Gwenneth Gumbs (North Salem, NY/North Salem HS) had four kills apiece, with Pabon adding five digs.

Westchester CC returns home on Thursday, Oct. 4 for a 7:00 p.m. tilt with Monroe-Bronx. The Vikings defeated the Express, 3-1 on Sept. 18. A Westchester Community College win will clinch a .500 or better record for the Vikings in 2018 after a 7-13 finish one season ago.
