Donjeta Prelvukaj (Bronx, NY/St. Catharine) added 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists, but the Westchester Community College Women's Basketball team suffered a 92-47 defeat to NJCAA Division I foe ASA College on Saturday afternoon at the Monroe College Classic in New Rochelle, NY. With the loss, the Vikings are now 1-3 for the 2019-2020 season.
It was a tale of two halves as ASA (1-1) got off to a fast start, leading 23-6 after the first quarter and 52-16 at halftime. However, Westchester did not go down quietly, and enjoyed a much better second half, scoring 31 of their 47 points over the final 20 minutes.
Westchester received a fine performance from freshman
Bria Lockley (Yonkers, NY/HS for Teaching & Professions), who scored nine points, and added three rebounds, and three steals during her 2019-2020 debut.
Westchester returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 10 when the Vikings conclude the Monroe College Classic by facing the host Mustangs at 2:00 p.m.
