(Valhalla, NY) - Freshman Cristina Stasolla (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Maria Regina) had three assists and four digs, and freshman Stefania Rinaldi (White Plains, NY/Valhalla HS) added a kill, five digs, and five service aces, but the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team was swept by Orange Community College, 3-0 on Thursday evening at Viking Gymnasium. With the loss, Westchester is now 0-2 overall, and 0-2 in both Region XV and Mid-Hudson Conference play.

All three sets went right down to the wire with Orange winning the match 25-22, 25-20, and 26-24 during the first match-up between the schools since Westchester notched a 3-2 victory over Orange in the 2018 Mid-Hudson Conference Championship match.
 

Sophomore Gabriela Faria (Yonkers, NY/Saunders HS) led the Vikings with three kills, while sophomore Melody Pabon (Bronx, NY/Celia Cruz) added a team-high eight digs to go with four service aces, while Jurnee Reid (Sleepy Hollow, NY/Ossining HS) had three service aces.

Westchester CC returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when the Vikings travel to Dutchess Community College for an 11:00 a.m. Mid-Hudson Conference/Region XV match.
