Stefania Rinaldi (White Plains, NY/Valhalla HS) added six kills eight assists, and 11 digs, but the fourth-seeded Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team was swept by top-seeded Dutchess Community College on Tuesday night in the Mid-Hudson Conference Semifinals at Rockland Community College. With the loss, the Vikings are now 6-9.
Dutchess swept the match 25-17, 25-22, and 25-20. The Falcons were then upset by second-seeded Rockland CC, 3-1 in the Mid-Hudson Conference Championship Match.
Also for Westchester, sophomore Angelarosa Garofalo (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac HS) registered a career-high 18 digs and added five assists, while sophomore
Mikaelyn Hannon (Yonkers, NY/Peekskill HS) added five digs and two solo blocks.
Westchester CC now enters the 2021 NJCAA Region XV Championship Tournament, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 21 when the Vikings travel to Rockland Community College for a 7:00 p.m. Quarterfinal match.
