Isabella Masucci (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla HS) recorded 12 assists, but the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team dropped its second consecutive match, 3-0 to Orange Community College on Tuesday night at Viking Gymnasium. With the loss, the Vikings fall to 1-2 overall, and 1-2 in both Mid Hudson Conference and NJCAA Region XV play.
12 days after the Vikings earned a sweep of Orange CC, the Colts (1-3, 1-3) swept the match 25-22, 25-18, and 25-19 on the heels of a solid hitting night as Orange hit .259, compared to Westchester's .034. Beyond the hitting game, the match was statistically close. Orange held a 15-14 edge in service aces, an 18-14 advantage in digs, and recorded three total blocks, compared to Westchester's one.
For the Vikings, freshman
Nehemie Fleurimond (White Plains, NY/Woodlands HS) recorded five kills and a solo block.
Westchester CC returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 when the Vikings travel to Nassau Community College for a 12:00 p.m. tri-match with host Nassau CC and Monroe-Bronx. Westchester next competes at home on Thursday, Sept. 30 when the Vikings welcome Dutchess Community College at 7:00 p.m.
