Newark, NJ – The Vikings fell to Essex County College in double overtime last night by the score 109-101. With the loss, Westchester falls to 6-7 on the year.
Westchester started with a strong first half leading the Wolverines 42-36. The second half came down to the final seconds when
Joshua Alexandre (Palisades Prep HS/Yonkers, NY) hit a game-tying buzzer beating lay-up to send the game to overtime. The game would ultimately go to a second overtime where Essex (6-6) would take away the W.
SUNY WCC was lead by Freshman
Yenfry Paulino (Mott Hall HS/Bronx, NY) who had a game-high 26 points, Sophomore
Ed Beqiri (Archbishop Stepinac HS/Yonkers, NY) had 18 points, and Freshman
Trevor Mooney (Mamaroneck HS/Larchmont, NY) had 17 points.
The Vikings will end the calendar year with one more game to be played on Saturday December 17
th against Erie Community College at Viking Gymnasium. Tip-off will be at 3pm.
