Aim for the Ky: Women's Basketball wins fifth straight game, 64-43 over Orange CC behind Taxiera's 21-point effort

Box Score (Middletown, NY) - Freshman Kylee Taxiera (Ossining, NY/Ossining HS) scored a team-high 21 points, and added five steals and three assists, and sophomore Donjeta Prelvukaj (Bronx, NY/St. Catharine) enjoyed another monster game with a 20-point, 17-rebound double-double - to go with six assists - as the Westchester Community College Women's Basketball team earned its fifth straight win with a 64-43 victory over Orange Community College on Tuesday night at Orange CC. With the win, the Vikings are now 8-4 overall, and 1-1 in NJCAA Region XV play.

The Vikings opened the game on an 11-0 run, led 29-20 at halftime, and blew the game open during the third quarter, when they outscored the Colts (3-8, 0-2 Region XV) 23-12.

Also for Westchester, freshman Mylene Smith (Peekskill, NY/Hendrick Hudson HS) scored 19 points, while freshman Adrianna McFadden (Ossining, NY/Ossining HS) had 12 rebounds.

Westchester CC returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 3 when the Vikings host Sullivan Community College at 5:00 p.m. The game will take place at the Victory Hall Sports Center on the campus of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Spectators will not be allowed into the Mercy College Gymnasium.
