Valhalla, NY – Despite a career high 37 points from Viking sophomore
Adriana McFadden (Ossining HS/Ossining, NY), Westchester fell to Chesapeake College (8-5) 67-47 last night in Viking Gymnasium.
The Vikings started the first quarter off a tad slow giving up a quick five points to the Skipjacks before McFadden would begin her night with a three pointer four minutes in. Westchester would then tie the game up after a layup by
Dominique Gaydarik (St. Catharine Academy/Bronx, NY), a steal by
Irene Maris (Tuckahoe HS/Bronxville, NY) and another layup by McFadden. Westchester would go into the second quarter only down two to Chesapeake.
The second quarter saw more of a scoring battle between McFadden and the Chesapeake team. Adriana would score all the Vikings 13 points keeping the deficit to 10 points going into the halftime break.
Heading into the final quarter of play, Chesapeake would go on a 12-0 run that spanned just over four minutes which pushed their lead to 21. The Skipjacks were lead by Aniyah Quow who had a team-high 22 points.
The loss moves Westchester to 5-11 on the season. The Vikings next scheduled game will be on Tuesday January 17
th when they will host the Lions of Raritan Valley Community College at Viking Gymnasium. Tip-off will be at 5pm.
