Stone Ridge, NY – The Vikings avenged their Sophomore Night loss to SUNY Ulster Monday evening defeating the Senators 3-1 (25-18, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22) to finish the regular season at 8-8.
Westchester would come out of the gate hot taking the first match away from the Senators 25-18. SUNY Ulster would come back in game two winning 25-15. Westchester wouldn't look back from there. The Vikings would take the final two games from the Senators 25-21 and 25-22 to lock in the victory and move Westchester to a .500 record and locked in a spot in both the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament and the Regional Tournament next week.
The Vikings were led by
Julia Pawlowicz who had a team high 11 aces on the night as well as sharing 10 kills with
Gabriella Cresti Caetano. Caetano would also lead the team with five blocks.
Atalia Graham ended the night with a team high 15 digs followed by
Velina Greco who had 13.
SUNY Westchester now looks to the postseason participating in the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament on Tuesday October 24
th hosted at the #1 seed Dutchess Falcons. The Vikings look to take home their first Conference Championship since winning it back in 2018. The first match will start at 5pm up in Poughkeepsie.
