Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vikings battled against the fifth-ranked Falcons of Dutchess Community College last night losing in four sets 3-1. The loss moves Westchester's record to 4-4 on the year.
 
SUNY WCC would put up a good fight in set number one taking the loss 25-20 against a solid Falcon squad. The Vikings would have nine kills in the first set matching SUNY Dutchess however 10 errors would cost Westchester the set. Dutchess seemed to find their groove in set number two taking the game 25-15 over the Vikings. The Falcons would edge Westchester in kills six to three while limiting their errors to just four in the set.
Heading into the third, and possibly last, set of the evening, SUNY Westchester would bounce back and take the win over the fifth-ranked Falcons (10-1, 4-0) 25-20 thanks to seven kills and a solid serve-receive defense. The Vikings, all too familiar to pushing games to the fourth and fifth set, locked in looking to take Dutchess to their second loss of the year. Ultimately, SUNY Dutchess would lock down both offensively and defensively ending the Vikings chances with a 25-10 win.
 
Westchester was led by Gabriella Cresti Caetano who had a match-high 10 kills and 4 blocks. Julia Pawlowicz recorded eight blocks, two aces, and two blocks on the evening. Velina Greco got in on the Viking action with three kills, four aces, and seven digs. Defensively Westchester was led by Naina Thomas who had 16 digs.
 
The Vikings look to revenge their loss with a home game against the fifth-ranks Falcons tomorrow evening starting at 7pm in Viking Gymnasium.
