Valhalla, NY – Women's basketball fell to Middlesex County College Thursday Evening in Viking Gymnasium 80-60.
 
The first quarter started off with a Colt 6-0 run before the Vikings got on the board. Westchester would go on their own 6-0 run to put them in the lead by one before Middlesex would tie the game at seven at the 5:39 mark. The game would turn into a back-and-forth battle before the Vikings would go up by as much as six before the Colts ended the quarter on a 7-0 run and take the lead 20-19. Westchester would get into foul trouble early with 11 team fouls.
 
The second quarter saw much of the same with a back and forth battle before Middlesex would slowly pull away outscoring Westchester 18-10 taking a 38-29 into halftime. The Vikings shot 22% from the floor while shooting 50% from the Free-Throw line. Milagros Alston would lead SUNY WCC with nine points followed by Baronique Russell who would add seven points and 13 rebounds.
 
In the third quarter, Middlesex would come out firing adding another 20 points while holding the Viking offense to 17 points. Fatigue slowly started to set in for Westchester battling against 8 Colts who continued to rotate their bench. Alston would add another seven points to her resume.
 
The final quarter of play, Westchester was held to 14 total points enroute to the loss. The Vikings were led by Milagros who had a game-high 20 points. Natasha White would add 12 points and seven rebounds while Baronique Russell added 11 points and 18 rebounds. The Colts had four players in double-digits including two players with 16-point games.
