Middletown, NY – The Lady Vikings fell 3-2 in a thrilling 5-set match against Dutchess Community College in the Mid-Hudson Conference semifinals last night.
Westchester played all Mid-Hudson Conference games tough throughout the year and last night held the same feat. The Vikings would take the first game from the Falcons 25-22. Following in set number two, Dutchess would come back and take the win 25-23 evening the match at one apiece. The Falcons would run away in set number three with a 25-18 win, now only needing one more win to move onto the championship match. The Vikings would earn a much-needed win in the fourth set 26-24 to move to the decisive fifth set. There, the Falcons would take home the hard-fought victory clipping SUNY WCC 15-8.
Westchester would be led by none other than
Ziacera Sexton and
Julia Pawlowicz who would combine for 31 kills. Pawlowicz would also have an astonishing 35 digs in the match.
The Vikings now look to make some noise in the Region 15 tournament beginning on Thursday October 31
st. The opponent is yet to be determined due to this week being the final week of regular season play.
