Valhalla, NY - After suffering their first loss of the season the Lady Vikings were looking to bounce back against another foe, the Colts of Middlesex, New Jersey.
Right off the tip Westchester got out to a hot start jumping on Middlesex by 10. The Viking press stifled the Colts early and allowed WCC to have an 11 point lead going into half time.
To start the second half again the Lady Vikings once again came out strong going on a run to extend the lead out 18 at one point. Freshmen Daveya Rodriguez(Beacon, NY) had a huge 3rd quarter scoring 8 points to help Westchester extend that lead.
The game would not end there as the Colts just wouldn't go away. Offensive rebounds kept them in it as they grabbed 23 of them and at one point had the Viking lead down to 6. However, some late clutch shooting allowed SUNY WCC to close out another physical game.
Freshman, Saniya Bell(Ossining, NY) scored 19 points, grabbed 14 boards and had 7 steals. Rodriguez finished with 12 points and 4 steals in a 60 to 48 win.
WCC will be back in action this weekend as they travel up north to Rochester to play two games in the Monroe College Tournament. Those games will take place Saturday and Sunday.
