On Saturday the Lady Vikings started a back to back road trip first against the Bulldogs from Bergen County. Westchester jumped on Bergen early taking a 19 point lead after the first quarter and they never looked back from there. The defense for WCC was stifling and only gave up 14 points through 3 quarters. They ended up winning by a final score of 73-28.Â

Freshman Daveya Rodriguez(Beacon, NY/Beacon High School) had her first double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Another freshman, Tiandra Martin(Jamaica/ Mt. Vernon High School) had a nice scoring output with 15 points.

That didn't quite top the weekend off as the Lady Vikings had a quick turnaround playing in Baltimore Maryland the next day. They would take on division 1 Baltimore City Community College. It was a dominating victory from start to finish for WCC. They won every quarter by double digit points and won by a final score of 85-39.

Sophomore Angelica Rios(Ossining, NY/Ossining High School) had a huge day scoring 18 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists. Freshman Saniya Bell(Ossining, NY/Ossining High School) also had a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. To top off the weekend, Martin also scored her career high with 28 points against Baltimore.

After a tough couple of seasons for Westchester Women's Basketball it is great to see them going into the break with such success. They will look to keep this up in the second half where they look to finish their goal of winning a Region 15 championship!
