The sun was shining at Vikings Field yesterday for the match up between the Westchester Community College Vikings and the Dominican University Chargers.

The game began with Dominican University taking an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. Westchester responded with one run, keeping them one point behind the Chargers. At the top of the second, Dominican extended their lead with two more runs. Trailing by three points, the Vikings knew they needed to respond quickly. To their relief, they scored ten runs in a single inning, commanding a six point lead. Dominican fought back with four additional runs across the fourth and fifth innings, while Westchester added one more. WCC was able to get one more run in during the seventh innings, while DU just couldn't keep up. The game concluded with a 13-8 victory for the Vikings.

Westchester saw four of their players making two runs during the game: Randel Weisner, Peter Portugues, Joseph Cohen, and Elijah Villanueva. They also had another five players scoring a run for the tam: Owen Tyler, Freddy Heymach, Jhonny Ortiz, Michael Tiseo, and Nick Vendola. 

he Vikings will play Bronx Community College on March 12th, 2025 at Vikings Field. The first pitch will be thrown at 3:30pm.
