It was a Vikings versus Vikings game, between Westchester and Mercer. When the two went head-to-head last season, Westchester emerged victorious with a close win of 10-9. Now, facing them in a double-header, WCC was eager to get to Trenton, NJ, and face them once again.
The first game had Westchester rattled, being down by five at the end of 2. In the third inning, WCC scored their first two runs, while MCCC scored another three. The fourth and fifth innings was quiet for the Vikings, as they were once again held scoreless. Meanwhile, Mercer added another three, and would ultimately end up taking a commanding 13-3 lead. Due to the mercy rule, it was game over for WCC. The final score was 13-3. Heymach went yard, which was a bright spot for the Blue and Gold.
After a tough loss, the Westchester Vikings would come into the second game seeking redemption. They started swinging early, and it showed as they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and never looked back. WCC pitching was lights out as they were able to hold Mercer scoreless, Winning with a final score of 4-0.
