Valhalla, NY- The Westchester Community College Men's Bowling Team returned to action last weekend January 17th at Spins Bowl in Carmel, New York. It was a strong first showing for the men as they placed third with an overall score of 4586. Freshman Mark Faranda bowled an average score of 189 and a total score of 1135. Right behind him was fellow freshman Jonathan Adair who had an average score of 166 and a total of 999.
It was a short rest for our bowlers as the next day they traveled up north to Rome, New York for the Hawk Invitational hosted by Mohawk Valley CC. It was another strong showing for Adair as he bowled a 975 for an average of 162 in 6 games. Right behind once again was his fellow freshmen Faranda who bowled a 972 for a 162 average as well. The 5 bowlers also competed in the always fun Baker Games. They scored a total of 664 for an average of 132.
Athletic Director Mike Belfiore and the bowling coaching staff are very excited for this upcoming season. It is a very young group so it will be exciting to see how much they grow.
The men will return to the lanes January 31st as they will once again travel up north to Yorkville, New York to take on Herkimer CC in a conference matchup at 1:00 PM at Vista Lanes. Go out and support!!!
