On September 20, 2017, the Official Mascot of the Westchester Community College Athletic Department was introduced to the WCC campus community. 'Chester' - as he will forever be known - is a near-perfect likeness of the primary WCC Athletic Logo.
Chester has already taken on the persona of the, "World's Most Friendly Viking" trading the sometimes-violent lifestyle of Viking traders and football players for hugs and handshakes. While he may look fierce, Chester is actually as cuddly as a teddy bear, and he reminds at members of the WCC community to not run away when he is around. He is always available for one of his legendary two-armed hugs, or a selfie.
Chester plans to be at many WCC Athletic home games and campus events. He also may take a stroll around campus on random days, just to say hello. His hobbies include boating, trading, fantasy sports, eating Salted Fish and other Viking delicacies, and practical jokes.
