Dr. Richard Gennaro was named Athletic Department Faculty Athletic Representative in October of 2017. In this newly-created role, Dr. Gennaro will serve as a resource and advisor for any athletic department initiatives pertaining to academic success, and promote leadership in the governance of the intercollegiate athletics program.

Dr. Gennaro is the Department Chair of Allied Health, and the Curriculum Chair of the Health and Human Performance, and Personal Training programs for the Department of Health, Human Performance & Physical Education. He teaches coursework in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Personal Training, Health & Fitness for Life, Trends in Fitness and Human Performance, and Exercise & Conditioning. He is the Co-chair of the Curriculum Committee, and is also a Faculty Senator representing the Department of Health, Human Performance & Physical Education.  He recently created the WCC Health & Human Performance AS degree, and the Personal Training Certificate programs.

He is a 1984 graduate of the United States Military Academy, and is a former Army Master Fitness Trainer. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a Certified Fitness Trainer and a Master of Fitness Science.  He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York Chiropractic College in 1994.

Dr. Gennaro is also the Vice-President of the ICA Counsel of Fitness &Â Sports Health Science, and is the editor of the ICA e-Journal of Sports Health Science.
