Box Score (Randolph, NJ) - Sophomore
Randy Stephens scored a team-high 21 points, and fellow sophomore
Tremaine Fraiser added 19 points as the Westchester Community College won for the fifth straight time, 91-81 over host County College of Morris on Friday evening to open the County College of Morris Tournament. With the win, the Vikings are now off to an incredible 5-0 start to the 2017-18 season.
In a game that featured nearly as many fouls as points, WCC hung on against a scrappy CCM team despite an uneven pace to the game, as both teams spent much of the night at the free throw line. A back and forth opening 20 minutes ended with a huge play by
Maxx Miller, as the sophomore stole the ball, and converted a lay-up as time expired in the first half to extend WCC's lead to 40-34 at halftime,.
Fraiser's efforts at the free throw line proved to be key, as he went 6 for 6 during a night when Westchester converted only 30 of their 46 free throw attempts.
WCC returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 18 as they seek the County College of Morris Tournament Championship when they face Rowan Gloucester Community College at 12:00 p.m. at County College of Morris,
