The Vikings Baseball team completed the series win over Rockland with an 8-5 victory on Sunday.  After splitting their first series with Dutchess, WCC has now won their second straight within Region XV, good for a tie atop the division. 

Westchester fell behind 3-0 early as Rockland scored in each of the first two innings.  The Vikings fought back though, posting two runs in the 3^rd and three in the 4^th to seize the lead.  After the Hawks responded with runs in the 5^th and 6^th, the game was tied at 5 going into the top of the 8^th, where WCC, (playing as the away team) pull ahead on Scottie Giordano's (Croton Harmon HS/Croton, NY) RBI single that plated a run as the Vikings posted two additional insurance runs in the final frames. 

Giordano was 1 for 2 on the day with three walks and three runs scored.  Steve Guzman (JFK HS/Bronx, NY) was 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI as was Paul Franzese (Somers HS/Somers, NY) who served as the DH for the game.  Luis Gomez (St. Raymond's HS/Bronx, NY) was the winning pitcher, with a scoreless frame in the 8^th as Giordano came in for the 9^th to notch his second save. 

With the win, the Vikings move to 26-11 on the season and 8-4 within the Region.  They return to action on April 25^th as they travel to Bergen CC for a non-region game at 3:30pm.
