(Valhalla, NY) - After a successful 2018 campaign, five members of the Westchester Community College Cross Country teams have earned All-Conference honors from the Mid-Hudson Conference. One member of the Westchester CC Women's team was honored, as were four members of the 2018 Mid-Hudson Conference Champion Men's Cross Country team.
On the women's side, freshman
Yaminah Calinda (Yonkers, NY/Lincoln HS) earned First Team All-Conference honors after a strong showing at Saturday's Mid-Hudson Conference Championships. The rookie runner finished the conference championships in seventh place with a time of 37:01, and was only 14 seconds behind a fourth place finish in the event.
On the men's side, freshman
Randy Culcay (Ossining, NY/Ossining HS), freshman
Mark Naulaguari (White Plains, NY/Woodlands HS), freshman
Bolaji Akinbowale (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle HS), and freshman Max Stock (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac HS) all earned First Team All-Conference after finishing in the top-seven of the Men's Cross Country Championships. Culcay enjoyed perhaps the finest day of his young career on Saturday, finishing the 8K event in 35:43 to place third in the Mid-Hudson Conference, a mere 14 seconds behind a second place finish.
Westchester Community College continues its season on Saturday, Oct. 27 when the Vikings compete at the NJCAA Region XV Championships in Milton, NY with the hopes of qualifying for November's NJCAA National Cross Country Championships.
