SUNY Westchester began their season on Saturday as they traveled to the Milton Sports Dome to take part in the New Paltz Invitational.  For the women's squad, it marked the first meet in their NJCAA Region 15 title defense with a mostly new team.  Freshman Alphonso Leblanc was the lone participant on the men's side as he finished the 8k course in a time of 36:57 in his first ever college race.  He was the 5th junior college finisher who crossed the line as 53rd overall.  

The women's team was led by Freshman Domenica Tepan Largo who finished the 6K race in 40:27, good for 58th place overall.  Freshman Benzi Bristol and Sophomore Gianna Mirziliano finished shortly after at 65th and 67th respectively.  Rounding out the top 5 for the Vikings was Aliyana Farray and Melissa Stantospirito who came in back to back in 82nd and 83rd place.  The women's team finished 12th overall in the meet.  

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, September 23rd as they travel to Bard College for the Bard Invitational.
