(Valhalla, NY) - On Thursday, February 8, the Westchester Community College Women's Basketball team will honor National Girls and Women in Sports Day with 'Think Pink Night' as the Vikings host Borough of Manhattan Community College at 6:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Women's Sports Foundation, for more than 30 years, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, "has empowered women and girls to get moving, embrace physical activity and push past their limits. The courage, confidence and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls need to become the strong leaders of tomorrow." National Girls and Women in Sports Day is celebrated annually across both NCAA and NJCAA member institutions.
The Westchester Community College Athletic Department will honor this special day by hosting a 'Think Pink Night' in order to raise both awareness and money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Prior to the game, pink wristbands will be sold to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. In addition, Westchester Community College will wear pink uniforms during the game, and will sport other 'pink' items during the game.
