Feb 15

Box Score (Valhalla, NY) - Five Vikings scored in double figures as the Westchester Community College Men's Basketball team used a strong second half to defeat the College of Mount Saint Vincent JV team, 89-74 on Thursday night in Viking Gymnasium. The began with seven Vikings being honored before the final home game of their Westchester Community College career ... and ended with all but two of them breaking double digits as a balanced scoring effort allowed WCC to score its second win over Mount Saint Vincent this season. However, Mount Saint Vincent did not stay down. The Dolphins scored the final 17 points of the first half to make things uncomfortably close, and WCC took a 42-37 lead into halftime.

After some back-and-forth play to start the second half, Westchester finally pulled away, Tremaine Fraiser (Port Chester, NY/Trinity Catholic) scored 10 of his 15 points during the second half of play, and Gabriel Cruz (Bronx, NY/In-Tech Academy) netted eight of his 14 points during the final 20 minutes. Also for WCC, Drew Bronen (Suffern, NY/Suffern HS) scored eight of his 10 points during the first half, and Pierre Lys (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) added 15 points.
