Madison Young (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) added 12 kills, six blocks, and four digs, but the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team lost a five-set heartbreaker, 3-2 to Ulster Community College on Thursday night at Ulster. With their second consecutive loss, the Vikings are now 7-4 overall, and 3-3 in Mid-Hudson Conference play.
The Vikings stormed through the opening set, 25-14, but the Senators battled back to capture the next two sets, 24-26 and 22-25. Westchester dominated the fourth set, 25-14 before Ulster captured the deciding set, 15-8.

Taylor Mello (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Putnam Valley HS) chipped in eight kills and 10 digs, freshman
Melody Pabon (Bronx, NY/Celia Cruz) added seven kills and seven digs, and sophomore
Alysha Owens (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon, HS) had nine kills and five digs.
Westchester will have an opportunity to notch their first win over Ulster Community College in more than three years when the Vikings host the Senators on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday, September 29 when they travel to Brooklyn, NY for a noon tri-match with Kingsborough Community College and Queensborough Community College. WCC opens play with Kingsborough CC.
