(Dix Hills, NY) - Sophomore Paige Collins (Jamaica, NY/Wadleigh HS) nearly missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds - to go with five steals, and freshman Jada Tom (Elmsford, NY/Alexander Hamilton HS) added 11 points, including a 3 for 4 effort from three-point range, as the Westchester Community College Women's Basketball team notched a 50-41 win over Five Towns College on Tuesday night in Dix Hills, New York.

With the win, the Vikings improve to 2-2 for the 2018-19 campaign, eclipsing their 2018 win total.

Westchester fell behind early, and trailed by four points at the end of the opening quarter, but outscored the Sound 35-22 the rest of the way to secure the victory. Sophomore Shanaya Jones (Bronx, NY/Health Opportunities HS) enjoyed a fantastic all-around game, including a team-high six assists and three steals.

Westchester CC returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 31 when the Vikings travel to Monroe-Bronx College for a 6:00 p.m. start.
