Dylan Sabia (Mahopac, NY/Iona Prep) picked up his fourth win of the season after pitching seven outstanding innings as the Westchester Community College Baseball team notched its eighth straight win with a 7-3 victory over Dutchess Community College on Thursday afternoon at Dutchess Stadium. With the win, the Vikings improve to 21-9 overall and 8-5 in Mid Hudson Conference and Region XV play.
It was a terrific all-around performance for the Vikings as eight different players combined for 13 hits, five Vikings combined for seven RBI's, and six different runners crossed home plate, on top of tremendous defense, and nine innings of outstanding pitching. Westchester scored three runs during both the first and third innings, and one more in the fifth inning to clinch the win.

Roman, who is hitting .433 over his last eight games, went 2 for 4 with two RBI's and a run scored. Also for Westchester, freshman
Michael Cox (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas HS) had another huge day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored to improve his batting average to .438 this season. Sophomores
Steve Guzman (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy HS) and
Sean Vanegas (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael) had two hits apiece, with Vanegas driving in two runs to increase his team-leading RBI total to 32 this season.
Sabia was terrific, allowing two earned runs over seven innings, while striking out six. He is now 4-2 for the 2019 season. Westchester also received two innings of work from their bullpen without allowing a run as sophomore
Luis Gomez (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond's) pitching the final 1.2 innings for his second save of the season.
Westchester travels to Dutchess Stadium again on Friday, April 26 when the two teams square off again for a 3:30 p.m. single game.
