(Loch Sheldrake, NY) - Freshman
Noe Fleurimond (Greenburgh, NY/Woodlands HS) scored a team-high 24 points, and fellow freshman
Malik Moore (Tuckahoe, NY/Tuckahoe HS) added 22 points, but the Westchester Community College Men's Basketball saw its three-game winning streak snapped, 111-93 to Sullivan Community College, the nation's third-ranked team, on Tuesday night at Sullivan CC. With the loss, the Vikings are now 19-6 overall and 5-2 against NJCAA Region XV/Mid-Hudson Conference competition for the 2019-2020 season.
Most of the game was reminiscent of Westchester's 70-61 win at home over Sullivan CC on Dec. 14, 2019, as the two teams battled back and forth, reclaiming the lead on multiple occasions. Like last time, Westchester held the lead late in the first half, before a rally at the end gave the Generals a 51-47 lead at the break. However, this time around, Sullivan was able to rally in the game's final minutes to claim the victory, in large part thanks to 14 made three-pointers.
Also for Westchester, sophomore
Joe Zayer (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South HS) added 14 points, while sophomore
Anthony Monti (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond's) added 12.
Westchester CC returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 when the Vikings travel to Raritan Valley Community College at 12:00 p.m.
