Nehemie Fleurimond (White Plains, NY/Woodlands HS) and
Mikaelyn Hannon (Yonkers, NY/Peekskill HS) combined for seven total blocks, but the Westchester Community College Women's Volleyball team lost their third straight match, 3-0 to Queensborough Community College on Tuesday night in Viking Gymnasium. With the loss, the Vikings are now 3-7 overall, and 3-6 in NJCAA Region XV.
Queensborough (7-0, 7-0 NJCAA Region XV), the top-ranked team in Region XV, swept the match 25-11, 25-17, and 25-16 for their eighth straight win over the Vikings, dating back to 2012. The visiting Tigers hit .208, compared to Westchester's -.013, and also had 13 service aces, compared to seven for Westchester CC.
The Vikings also received an outstanding effort from freshman
Isabella Masucci (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla HS), who had a team-high 12 digs and five assists.
Westchester CC returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 12 when the Vikings travel to Rockland Community College at 7:00 p.m. for a Mid-Hudson Conference tilt.
