(Loch Sheldrake, NY) - Sophomore
Malik Moore (Tuckahoe, NY/Tuckahoe HS) scored 14 points, while two other Vikings scored in double figures, but the Westchester Community College Men's Basketball team fell for the first time during the 2021-2022 season with a 92-63 loss to seventh-ranked SUNY Sullivan on Thursday night at Sullivan Community College. With the loss, the Vikings are now 5-1 overall, and 1-1 in Mid-Hudson Conference and NJCAA Region XV play.
The two teams battled back and forth early as Sullivan led 23-12 nine minutes into the game, but a Westchester run brought the Vikings back within four points. However, that was as close as Westchester would make it as the Generals (4-1, 1-0) led 47-24 at halftime, and opened the second half on a 10-0 run that all but put the game away.
For the Vikings, freshman
Nokio Kennedy (Yonkers, NY/Palisade Prep) scored 11 points, while freshman
Mekhi Purser (Bronx, NY/Pelham Lab HS) added 10 points.
Westchester now has two weeks between games as the Vikings return to action on Thursday, Dec. 2 when they host Ulster CC at 7:00 p.m.
