Valhalla, NY – The Vikings fell to Receiving Votes Monroe-Bronx Express on Saturday November 19
th 86-77. With the loss, Westchester falls to 2-5 on the year.
The first half saw both teams in a back and forth battle on the scoreboard before SUNY WCC took a 12 point lead with 7:47 left. Monroe-Bronx (5-1) would then close out the half on a 22-7 run. The second half saw the Vikings take an early one point lead before Monroe-Bronx's offense would turn missed opportunities into second chance points to ultimately seal the victory for them.
Westchester was lead by
Ed Beqiri (Archbishop Stepinac/Yonkers, NY) who had 20 points, 5 rebounds;
Omar Nkonde (Thurgood Marshall Academy/Harlem, NY) who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks; and
Kishaun Cole (Johnson & Wales Univ./Sleepy Hollow, NY) who had 11 points and was 3 for 3 from beyond the arc.
The Vikings have the Thanksgiving week off and then head to regional opponent Rockland Community College on Tuesday November 29
th for a seven o'clock game.
