(Valhalla, NY) - Freshman AJ Falciglia (Elmsford, NY/Stepinac) went 2 for 4 with three RBI's, and did not allow a run over 1.2 innings of relief pitching, and freshman Ryan Osso (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester HS) scored three times, but the Westchester Community College Baseball team closed a Sunday doubleheader with Sullivan Community College, 15-11 at Vikings Field. After dropping both ends of the twin-bill, the Vikings are now 19-16 overall, and 8-7 in NCAA Region XV play.

Sullivan - who competed as the home team during the nightcap - appeared to be on the verge of an easy win to close the doubleheader, scoring seven times during the bottom of the first inning to take a 7-1 lead, and then led 10-3 after three innings. However, from there, the Vikings engaged in a valiant comeback, scoring three times during the fourth inning, and four times an inning later, to tie the game 10-10. However, the Generals responded with five runs of their own during the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a 15-10 game, and never looked back. 

Falciglia and freshman Jace Deiulio (Mohegan Lake, NY/Lakeland HS) had two hits apiece, while Deiulio, freshman Luisbert Frias (Port Chester, NY/Port Chester HS) and freshman Don Hopper (Garrison, NY/Walter Panas HS) scored two runs each.

Freshman Brian Beehler (Pawling, NY/Pawling HS) took the loss despite three impressive innings in relief, as he allowed three runs, while striking out five, over three innings of work. The Viking bullpen pitched five out of seven innings, and allowed only five runs.

The opener was all Sullivan, who earned a 19-0 win, pitching a no-hitter, while scoring during all but one inning. 

Westchester CC and Sullivan CC will finish their 2022 season series on Tuesday, April 26 when the Vikings travel to Sullivan for a 3:30 p.m. start.
