Valhalla, NY – Despite three Viking players scoring in double digits, Westchester fell to Chesapeake College 68-49 Tuesday evening putting them at 7-9 on the season.
The first half saw both teams go back and forth on small runs however, the speed of the Skipjacks set the precedent early on. Three three-pointers and four free-throws would put Chesapeake up 12 within the first four and a half minutes of the ball game. Westchester would cut the lead to three points thanks to
Kishaun Cole (Johnson & Wales Univ./Sleepy Hollow, NY) and
Omar Nkonde (Thurgood Marshall Academy/Harlem, NY) combined 16 points in the first half.
The second half saw the same action as the first however, Chesapeake would hold the Vikings to 22 total points. The Skipjacks were lead by DJ Earl who had a game high 17 points and five steals. Westchester was lead by three 10 point performances by
Ed Beqiri (Archbishop Stepinac HS/Yonkers, NY), Cole, and Nkonde.
The Vikings will travel to Scranton, PA on Saturday January 14
th to take on Lackawanna College for a 1pm game.
