Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vikings were bounced out of the semi-final round in the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament last night against SUNY Orange 3-1.
SUNY Westchester got off to a slow start against the Colts falling in their first game 25-14. The Vikings would continue to claw their way back however they would fall in game two by the score of 25-22. With their backs against the wall, SUNY WCC would take game three away from SUNY Orange 25-23. The Vikings hoping the winning momentum would continue, fought back and forth with the Colts in the fourth game. Ultimately, SUNY OCC would come out on top taking the game 25-22 ending the Vikings chances to bring home the title.
Westchester would be led by
Gabriella Cresti Caetano who had 14 kills on the evening and six blocks.
Julia Pawlowicz would also contribute seven kills with
Atalia Graham adding 12 digs.
Postseason play is not over yet for the Vikings. They will travel back up to Poughkeepsie tomorrow, October 26
th, to take on the second seeded Falcons of Dutchess Community College in the opening round of the Region 15 Tournament. That match will begin at 7pm.
