Bronx, NY – The Vikings took home their second win of the season last night against the Bronx Broncos.
Westchester came out in full force in the first quarter scoring 36 points against Bronx's defense while the Vikings defense held the Bronco's to nine first quarter points. From there SUNY Westchester would be able to cruise to a 59-11 halftime score.
The Vikings were led by
Baronique Russell with a career-high 28 points, 11 rebounds, and six steals.
Natasha White, coming off her All-Tournament performance in the Johnny Jones Memorial Tip-Off Tournament, added 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Milagros Alston and Jaida Tejeda both added 14 points in the victory.
Chynna Mincey added 10 rebounds for SUNY WCC.
The ladies will travel to Raritan Valley on Saturday November 11
th for their next contest. Tip-off will be at 12pm. The Vikings split their season series with the Lions last year with a buzzer-beater win at Raritan back on November 19
th, 2022 while falling to the Lions at Viking Gymnasium by 10 on January 17
th, 2023.
