Valhalla, NY – The Vikings opened Conference play last night with a loss to SUNY Ulster by the score of 80-70.
A game of missed opportunities and turnovers. The first quarter Westchester would hold the Senators to a 27% shooting percentage however, the Vikings did not help themselves missing a few key layups. Regardless, SUNY WCC would only be down by one at the end of the quarter.
The second quarter is where things would get quite interesting. The Viking offense seemed to go cold only scoring 10 points while Ulster would rally for 26 points and break open the game heading into halftime. Personal fouls plagued Westchester.

Lanaysa Pridgen would pick up three fouls each limiting their time on the floor with the team being down 17 at half.

Karim McFarlane's halftime speech must have ignited the offensive flame again for the Vikings as they came out hot in the third quarter.
Milagros Alston would go 5 for 8 on the floor while White added four field goals including a three-pointer cutting the Senator lead to nine heading into the final quarter of the game.
The Vikings were eager to continue to make their comeback however, they would just run out of gas. Westchester's defense would give up 21 points to help notch the Senators victory even though SUNY WCC shot 47% from the floor in the quarter. Westchester would cut the lead down to as close as five points before SUNY Ulster would pull away.
The Vikings were led by Alston who had a career-high 21 points on the night followed by White who also added a career-high 20 points.
Baronique Russell had a team high 12 rebounds along with her 16 points.
Westchester look's towards their next game of the season tomorrow, November 18
th, as they travel to Middlesex County College for a 12pm tip-off.
