Valhalla, NY – Sophomore
Adriana McFadden (Ossining, NY/Ossining HS) reached a milestone few have accomplished for Westchester Women's Basketball on Tuesday, notching 500 points in a single season. She did so as she was the lone honoree for Sophomore Night. However, the Vikings did fall to Essex 64-36.
Westchester really struggled to score for much of the game. They did put together a solid 4
th quarter though but by then the game was already in hand for Essex. McFadden herself starred for the team scoring a team high 14 points to go with 10 rebounds and 7 steals.
Irene Maris (Bronxville, NY/Tuckahoe HS) chipped in with 8 points and 8 rebounds and
Shanice Wilcox (New Rochelle, NY/Mt Vernon HS) kept herself among the top 25 rebounders in the country, pulling down 11 boards.
With 1:39 left in the 4
th quarter, McFadden hit the first of two free throw attempts to eclipse the 500-point mark. She is the first Westchester player to do so in at least 9 years and one of very few in the program's history.
The Vikings play their final regular season game at home on Sunday, February 19
th at 1pm as they welcome Lackawanna to the Viking Gymnasium.
