Valhalla, NY – The Lady Vikings fell in their final regular season game last night against Region 19's Lackawanna College 81-46. The loss puts Westchester's record to 6-18.
The Vikings held their own for most of the first half against the Falcons ending the first quarter with a 13-9 lead and holding a four-point lead three and a half minutes before halftime before some key turnovers put Lackawanna a head by seven at half. 13 of
Adriana McFadden's (Ossining HS/Ossining, NY) 27 points came in the first two quarters. That became a crucial part of the ball game at the start of the third quarter.
McFadden once again helped maintain Westchester's offense throughout the game but two quick fouls two and a half minutes into the third put her on the bench.
Gianna Marziliano (Harrison HS, West Harrison, NY) tried to jumpstart the offense with five of her seven points scored in the quarter, however the Falcon offense was just too much for SUNY WCC and their lead continued to grow.
The Vikings as a whole produced 30 turnovers over the course of the 40-minute contest. They look to rebound in the postseason as they will face a tough SUNY Sullivan team for the right to hold the Region 15 crown on Sunday February 26
th. The Championship game will take place a Orange Community College with a 12pm tip-off.
