Valhalla, NY – Avenging their first loss of the year, the Vikings came out strong with a 10-3 victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent's JV team. Westchester moves to 8-1 on the 2023 season.
 
Westchester would jump out to an early eight run lead and would coast the rest of the game thanks to a solid pitching performance from six Viking pitchers. Patrick Poggi (Briarcliff HS/Briarcliff Manor, NY) would earn his first victory of the year throwing two innings of shutout ball while striking out three and scattering two hits. The pitching staff would strike out 16 Dolphin batters while only giving up one earned run. A stat line any coach would love to see.
 
Just like in games past, the offense would come out striking early and often. 12 Viking hits, eight RBI's and six walks aided in SUNY Westchester's win. Luisbert Frias (Port Chester HS/Port Chester, NY) would have another standout performance going four for five and three RBI's. Frias is now hitting .500 on the year, tying him at 19^th overall in batting average in Division II NJCAA.
 
The Vikings look to keep their bats hot with an away game tomorrow against Receiving Votes Kingsborough. First pitch slated for 2:30pm.
