Manganiello's Osso Sweet Day! Sophomore's 2-Run Blast Gives Vikings 10th Conference Win

Valhalla, NY – Westchester continued their winning ways yesterday afternoon with a 10-0 victory over conference foe SUNY Orange. The Vikings are now 36-7 overall and 10-3 in conference play.

Even though it was a gloomy day at Vikings field, the sun peaked out time and time again and the Vikings were eager to shine on their remarkable season. On the mound for Westchester was none other than Ryan Osso (Eastchester HS/Eastchester, NY). The Manhattanville commit had yet another stellar performance on the rubber throwing a seven-inning complete game while scattering six hits, striking out three, and not allowing a run or a walk. Osso, who's now 8-1 on the year, also contributed key moments at the plate walking twice and scoring twice for the Viking offense.

Leading the way for the offense was sophomore catcher Michael Manganiello (Archbishop Stepinac HS/Yonkers, NY) who blasted a two-run homerun over the left field fence to break the game open for SUNY WCC in the bottom of the first. Manganiello would go two for four on the day with a run scored and three RBIs. Not to be outdone, Marc Stockhausen (St. Raymond's HS/Bronx, NY) and Matt Antolino (Fox Lane HS/Bedford, NY) would also collect two hits each and a combined three RBI's. Michael Ambrosecchia (Mahopac HS/Mahopac, NY) continued his hot hitting with a three-RBI bases clearing triple.

The Vikings schedule against SUNY Orange has now changed due to the pending inclement weather forecasted for the upcoming weekend. Westchester will now travel to the Colts home field today (April 28th) for a 2pm seven-inning doubleheader. The final game of the series will be made up at a later date.
