Philip Toscano Named Head Coach For Women's Volleyball

Aug 7

Valhalla, NY – Director of Athletics Michael Belfiore is pleased to announce the hiring of Philip Toscano as the new Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball Program here at SUNY Westchester.

"I am glad to give the opportunity to Phil to coach these young ladies and build off of a great foundation for our Women's Volleyball Program," said Belfiore. "He come's from a solid volleyball background. A former assistant coach here and a former head coach at the Division II level at Concordia College. Our department cannot wait to see what's in store for the program moving forward."

Toscano, a SUNY WCC alum, has played volleyball throughout his life. He came to the Vikings back in 2010 to help bolster the staff in hopes of winning the Region 15 title. After the 2016 season, Phil received the opportunity to take the helm of the Concordia (NY) College Clippers, a Division II school in the CACC, where he oversaw day-to-day operations for practices, recruiting future student-athletes, and coaching the Clippers.

"I want to thank Director of Athletics Mike Belfiore and his staff on giving me the opportunity to coach at my alma mater," said Toscano. "I am looking forward to working with this group of young women and pushing them to their best potential both on and off the court. We have a solid season coming upon us and would love to hold both the Mid-Hudson Conference and Region crown!"
