Volleyball Blanked in Nassau Double Duel

Garden City, NY – The Vikings fell to both Nassau Community College and Monroe-Bronx in their first double-duel of the season on Saturday September 23rd by the score of 3-0 in both matches. The losses move Westchester to 2-3 on the year.

Match #1: Nassau 3-0 L

SUNY WCC played their hearts out against a good Lion squad but ultimately fell 3-0 to Nassau. Set number one would end by the score of 26-24 followed by another close final in set umber two 25-22. In the third and final set, the Vikings would fall by the score of 25-18. Westchester would be led by Gabriella Cresti Caetano who had nine kills in the match and Julia Pawlowicz who had three aces on the day. Naina Thomas would have 10 assists in the match.

Match #2: Monroe-Bronx 3-0 L

In their second match of the day, the Vikings came up short against a good Express team, 25-13, 25-12, and 25-10. Fatigue was a definite factor in the match for Westchester after leaving it all out on the court in match number one. Cresti Caetano would once again lead the Vikings in kills for the match with six. Velina Greco and Jaydalyn Beverly would contribute with an ace each in the loss.

The Vikings look to bounce right back with another double duel, this time at Rockland Community College, on Sunday September 24th against Hostos and Bronx Community College.
