Valhalla, NY – Despite a team-high 17 points from
Yenfry Paulino, the Vikings fell to visiting Middlesex County College 91-58.
The first half saw SUNY Westchester's offense struggle shooting 21% from the floor and 50% from the free-throw line. Middlesex opened the half with a 12-0 run before the Vikings got on the board at the 14:59 mark. The Colts would hit seven three-pointers to really open up the game and allow them to rotate their bench. Paulino would lead the Vikings with six points and four rebounds while
Wyatt Triestman would add four points and nine rebounds.
Coming out of halftime, SUNY Westchester would attempt to cut into the Colt lead however, the damage seemed to be already done. The Vikings would cut the lead down to 28 before Middlesex would pull away and ice the victory.
Paulino would have a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.
Yave Cruz would add 15 points and seven rebounds, while Triestman would contribute eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Westchester looks to flip the page tonight as they host #2 ranked (NJCAA DIII) Northern Essex in a 7pm match right here in Viking Gymnasium.
