New York, NY – As historic as Men's Soccer's season has continued to be coming down to the end of the regular season, the Vikings notched their first loss of the season against the Panthers of BMCC Saturday afternoon.
In what started as status quo for SUNY Westchester, the Vikings go on the scoreboard first with a goal by none other than
Francesco Gigilo in the 18
th minute. However, after that it would become Manhattan's game. The Panthers would net three goals within eight minutes to take an unanswered 3-1 lead going into halftime.
Unfortunately, the 3-1 deficit would be too much for Westchester to overcome as BMCC would score two more times in the second half to run away with a 5-1 victory.
The Vikings look to end the regular season on a high note when they host Bergen CC on Saturday October 19
th for a 1pm game here at Barrett Field. Before kickoff, the Vikings will honor seven sophomore's who have dedicated their time and effort here at SUNY Westchester both on the field and in the classroom so please be sure to arrive early to help us show appreciation towards these Student-Athletes.
