Suffern, NY – Women's Volleyball comes away with a split Saturday afternoon in their final weekend double-duel of the season holding onto a playoff spot for the upcoming Region 15 tournament.
Game 1: 3-0 W vs. BMCC
The Lady Vikings took a commanding 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-21) win over the Panthers thanks to Sophomore
Julia Pawlowicz who had a match-high 13 kills, five aces, six blocks, and 21 digs.
Ziacera Sexton would follow suit with 12 kills in the three-set match.
Gianna DeChico would lead the Vikings with a match-high 21 assists.
Game 2: 3-0 L vs. FIT
Westchester would lose the second match of the day to a strong FIT team 3-0 (17-25, 11-25, 17-25). Viking Libero
Jourdan Washington would have a match high 16 digs and would add the only two Westchester service aces. Pawlowicz and Sexton had five kills each in the match while DeChico added two blocks.
The Vikings look to wrap up the regular season with a home and home against the Red Hawks of LaGuardia Community College starting tomorrow, October 15
th, when SUNY WCC hosts the Red Hawks on Sophomore Night! The Match will begin at 6pm inside Viking Gymnasium. Please make sure to arrive early as we will be celebrating three Viking sophomores who will be playing in their final home match as a Westchester Viking.
