Valhalla, NY – The Vikings took home a solid 3-0 victory over the Red Hawks of LaGuardia Community College Tuesday evening.
On what was a night of celebration for three student-athletes who would be playing in their final home volleyball match inside Viking gymnasium, the SUNY Westchester volleyball team shined on the court to help honor sophomores
Lorriah Guerrier,
Megan O'Hara, and
Julia Pawlowicz.
Westchester would take the first set in a commanding 25-12 victory followed by a 25-13 second set win. The Vikings third set came with a few hiccups; however, they would drive home a 25-18 W closing out their home schedule on a high note.
Pawlowicz would lead SUNY WCC with a team-high 16 kills and six service aces.
Ziacera Sexton would follow suit with eight kills of her own with
Gianna DeChico earning six kills on the evening. Libero
Jourdan Washington would have a team-high 14 digs in the match.
The Vikings end their regular season with an away match at the Red Hawks gymnasium next Tuesday, October 22
nd for a 6pm match. Following that, Westchester looks to make some noise in the Mid-Hudson Conference and Region 15 postseason tournaments.
