Randolph, NJ - The Vikings came home from the County College of Morris dropping two tough games to the host Titans and to Montgomery (MD) College of Region 20 putting them at 3-6 on the season.
Game 1: 104-87 L CC Morris
Westchester looked to right the ship coming off of a tough loss to Conference foe SUNY Orange, however, the Titans were ready for battle. The first half saw a high-scoring affair with Morris taking a 10 point lead at half. In the second half, the Vikings would score 43 points on the Titan defense but it would not be enough to propel Westchester to victory falling to Morris 104-87 pushing them to 3-5 on the year.
SUNY WCC would be led by
Mujahid Dine Yacoubou who had a team-high 23 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Luke Walker would add 16 points in the loss. The Titans would be led by Jagger Ruiz who had a game-high 27 points en route to their second win of the year.
Game 2: 95-83 L Montgomery (MD)
The Vikings now playing in the consolidation bracket of Morris' Turkey Hoop Shoot Tournament would take on #25 Montgomery (MD) Comunity College, no easy feat especially playing back-to-back days. Westchester came to fight however, holding Montgomery to 44 points in the first half and taking a seven point lead into the locker room at the break. The second half, though saw SUNY WCC run out of gas and ultimately would fall to their NJCAA Ranked opponent 95-83. The Vikings would be led by Sophomore
Elijah Hernandez who had a double-double, 20 points and 10 assists which also came with nine rebounds. Yacoubou would also add a double-double for himself scoring 19 points and rebounding 13 in the loss. Sophomore
Chris Kirkland would score 16 points for SUNY WCC.
Westchester looks towards their next game on Tuesday November 26th, when they will travel across the Hudson River to take on Mid-Hudson Conference and Regional foe Rockland Community College. Tip-off will be at 7pm inside the RCC Field House.
