Clinched! Vikings Lock In Playoff Berth With Win Over SUNY Ulster Tuesday Night

Feb 7

Box Score Stone Ridge, NY – Powered by 37 points from Freshman Wyatt Triestman, the Vikings clinched a playoff spot with their win over SUNY Ulster last night by the score of 88-72.

With the ebbs and flows throughout the season, SUNY Westchester's last two games have shown the resilience of a team who could make a nice little push in the playoffs. Triestman who continues to make waves, is averaging 19 points per game as well as 11.3 rebounds per game which is currently third-best in Division II NJCAA. Not to mention, Sophomore Yenfry Paulino has also helped spark the offense averaging 21 points per game.

Westchester and Ulster traded the lead all throughout the first half with the Vikings locking the 40-37 lead at half. The second half saw SUNY WCC pull away from the Senators enroute to their ninth win of the season and third conference victory. Anwar Zahzam aided the offense with a career-high 13 points hitting four-three's on the evening.

The Vikings look to continue their streak when they host Conference/Regional foe SUNY Orange tomorrow, February 8th, at 7pm right here in Viking Gymnasium.
