Valhalla, NY – SUNY Westchester fell to Manhattanville College's JV team yesterday afternoon 12-1 dropping them to 8-10 on the season.
The Valiants would get on the board first in the top of the third scoring four runs to take an early lead. Manhattanville would add a run in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to five on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the fourth,
Tommy Poggi continued swinging a hot bat doubled to start the inning. Poggi would eventually steal third and score on a
Mike Tiseo ground out. Manhattanville would add another run in the top of the fifth to put the lead back to five in the nine-inning game.
The Valiants would blow open the game in the top of the seventh scoring four runs and ultimately sealing their victory.
Westchester was led by
Brandon Hernandez who went 2 for 4 and by
Michael Manganiello who went 2 for 2 with two doubles and a walk.
Ryan McArdle would earn the loss for the Vikings.
SUNY WCC looks to their next match up this Wednesday, March 27
th, when they take on Region 19 and East District foe Lackawanna College at home. First pitch slated for 3:30pm
